Dr Chris Uggen 

Dr. Christopher Uggen, MD

Dr. Christopher Uggen is an orthopaedic surgeon with the Borgess Bone and Joint Institute and Kalamazoo Orthopaedic Clinic who specializes in arthroscopy and sports medicine. He received a Bachelor of Science with honors from University of Michigan and earned his medical degree from UCLA School of Medicine. Following his medical degree, he completed a five-year orthopedic surgery residency at LIJ/North Shore Medical Center in New York. Dr. Uggen was awarded a one-year orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in California and traveled to Switzerland for an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at University of Basel. He has worked as an assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, and Kings, and currently serves as a team physician for the Kalamazoo K Wings, Kingdom, and West Michigan Mayhem.

Dr Thomas Goodwin

Dr. Thomas Goodwin, DC

Dr. Goodwin is a non-operative, sports medicine physician with the Borgess Bone and Joint Institute and Kalamazoo Orthopaedic Clinic.  He graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Dr. Goodwin completed an internship and residency in family and sports medicine at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids where he served as an assistant team physician for the Grand Rapids Griffins, West Michigan Whitecaps, Grand Rapids Rampage, Calvin College and Aquinas College. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine from Virginia Tech where he served as an assistant team physician for all of the Hokie athletic teams. Dr. Goodwin is board certified in family practice and sports medicine and currently serves as a team physician for the Kalamazoo K Wings, Kingdom, and the West Michigan Mayhem.

Jennifer Query received her bachelor's degree in exercise science and master's degree in education with an emphasis in exercise physiology from Western Michigan University. Prior to managing the Borgess Athletic Performance Program, she worked as an exercise physiologist for Kettering Heath Network in Ohio, and as head strength and conditioning coach for Western Michigan University softball, women's basketball, women's gymnastics, women's track and field, women's cross country, and men's ice hockey teams. Jennifer is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS).

Kathy is a certified athletic trainer, earning her undergraduate degrees from Grand Valley State before attending Virginia Tech to pursue both a master's degree in health promotions and a PhD in Curriculum & Instruction. While at Virginia Tech, Kathy was responsible for the health care of the Women's Volleyball team and Men's Tennis team. Following Virginia Tech, Kathy served as the Women's Basketball and Men's Tennis athletic trainer at Radford University for 2 years before returning to West Michigan. Kathy's time at Borgess will be spent covering community athletic events, the Junior K-Wings Hockey team, high schools, and assisting in the office. Kathy enjoys hiking, tennis, swimming, and spending time with family and friends.
