Mission
Kingdom Select Soccer Club’s mission is to provide an opportunity for young people in our community to develop healthy life skills and team skills through active participation in the wonderful game of soccer. The fundamentals of the game are the most important concept for these players and winning will not be put ahead of this concept.

Kingdom Select Soccer Club was established in 2006 to provide opportunities for all players who are serious about the sport and who want to participate at a more competitive level with travel soccer. Benefits include consistency of coaching philosophy, professional administrative and coaching staff expertise, positive role models for youth players, and a professional approach to the development of the youth soccer player.
Coaching
Kingdom Select Head Coaches will be parent coaches who will receive support and instruction from the Kingdom Professional coaching staff. A curriculum designed for the technical skill development will be given to each coach during the season. Weekly on field training sessions will be implemented by the Head Coach with guidance from the Professional Coach. Kingdom Select coaches must have a USSF “E” license. There is a one year exemption allowed for coaches to obtain their coaching license. Each team may have one head coach, one assistant coach, and one manger. All staff must have a WMYSA pass card to be on the sidelines. All coaches and mangers must have a risk management card through MSYSA. ID # must be provided to WMYSA for registration. All coaches are expected to abide by the rules and regulations outlined in the Select Coaches Contract.
Tryouts
Kingdom Select tryouts are held the week of June 20th. Specific dates and times for each age group are posted online on the Kingdom website. All players will know if they have earned a spot on a team within 10 days of the last tryout date. All players must pre-register on the Kingdom website for tryouts. All players must bring a completed WMYSA player registration form and a birth certificate to tryouts. The submittal of the player registration form signed by the player and parent binds the player to the team for the seasonal year. There are no player releases from a Kingdom team without approval from the Kingdom club administrator.
Kingdom Select Fees
Kingdom Select club fees are $298 for the year. A new player for the spring season or a spring only team is $199 per player. Club fees of $298 are due *July 1st. New team spring fees of $199 are due February 1st. One season team (U15 and above) or new players in spring are $199 club fee. Uniforms are ordered online through Team Gazelle. Uniforms will be shipped directly to the player one week prior to the first game.
*A $30 late fee will be applied if club fees are not paid in full by July 1st. There are no refunds after acceptance to team.
Kingdom Select Practices
All teams will practice twice a week. A Kingdom professional staff coach will assist Head coaches during one practice weekly for one hour. Each team will get six (6) training sessions with a Kingdom professional coach per season. This date and time of training will be coordinated through the Kingdom office with communication with the Head Coach. The training site for this once a week session will be either at Kingdom Indoor Center or Ramona Park. The second practice date and time will be established by the Head Coach.
Uniforms
Kingdom Select uniforms are Nike uniforms and are ordered online through Team Gazelle. Uniform orders are due no later than July 9th for the fall season to allow adequate time for ordering and embellishment. The Kingdom Select kit consists of two jerseys, on red, one black, on black short, and two pairs of socks, one red, one black. Optional items available are backpacks, sweat jackets and pants. A sizing kit for all items will be at KIC the week after tryouts to allow for players to determine the correct size. The coach must first input the team roster with jersey numbers into the Gazelle site, then each player will be sent an email to order directly through Gazelle.
Uniform numbering - Kingdom Select numbering is as follows: 00, 0, or 1 for goalkeepers only. 2-22 for field players.
Logo - The Kingdom logo is trademarked and only authorized and approved print shops have permission to create Kingdom merchandise. Kingdom Select teams may not reproduce the Kingdom logo without permission.
Playing Time
Kingdom Select Players are guaranteed playing time of 50% of each game. Timing and positions will be determined by the Head Coach on game day based upon the player's performancee at practice and while competing.
Dual Roster Players
Players may roster on two different age group teams within the Kingdom organization if needed to complete a roster. The cost for registering on the second team is $50. Both coaches must sign off on the form along with the WMYSA registrar. The parent must write 2 checks, $25 to WMYSA and $25 to KIC for the additional cost of registering on the second team. Both checks must accompany the forms when dropped off at KIC. The player must fill out an additional WMYSA form with a picture for the second team. Dual Roster Form
Game Schedule
Kingdom Select teams participate in the WMYSA league. (West Michigan Youth Soccer Association) Each team will have 8 games per season, 4 home and 4 away. The home game field for Kingdom Select is River Oaks in Galesburg. Teams may request blackout dates prior to the season and before scheduling begins. Check the WMYSA calendar for submittal dates.
Tournaments
Kingdom Select teams are mandated to particiate in the two (2) Kingdom Tournaments: Kingdom Cup on Labor Day weekend and the Kalamazoo Crusader Cup in April. The cost of these tournaments is not included in the club fees.
Indoor
Kingdom Select teams will play indoor soccer at KIC at least two sessions during the winter months. KIC offers the highest quality facility and great competition for the travel player. Kingdom Select teams are required to play in the winter months to stay competitive for the spring season.
Scholarships
There are a limited number of scholarships available each year for players that are offered a spot on a Kingdom Select team. The scholarship application requires submission by the parent or legal guardian and a copy of the first 2 pages of their previous year's federal tax return. Scholarships are awarded by July 10th and are good for one calendar year. Fill out and mail to Kingdom Kids, PO Box 1447, Portage, MI 49081-1447. Spring team applications are due no later than December 15. No scholarships are guaranteed for spring teams if applications are not submitted by the due dates.
Injuries
Competitive socccer is a very physically demanding sport and injuries can occur. In the event of an injury where a player is unable to participate in games or practices for an extended period of time, the player is encouraged to remain part of the team by attending as many games, practices as possible. There are no refunds of club fees or uniform fees in the event of an injury.
